Are you looking for a legitimate Wealthy Affiliate (Wealthyaffiliate.com) review? It’s going to be a bit biased, but I promise to provide you with my honest opinion. 

Whether you are new or an existing affiliate marketer, you might have heard of Wealthy Affiliate or WA. In fact, the only reason why I got started with this business is because of Wealthy Affiliate.

I first joined Wealthy Affiliate back in 2017 after discovering their free membership. I didn’t have a huge expectation after wasting hours of my time filling out online surveys to try to make money.

In fact, at some point, I was close to losing all hope when it comes to making money online. But during the Wealthy Affiliates online entrepreneur certification course, I upgraded to their premium membership on the same day. Let’s just say, I was blown away by Wealthy Affiliate’s entrepreneur courses!

What makes Wealthy Affiliate so different compared to many other make-money-online opportunities is there transparency. Wealthy Affiliate does not promise guaranteed success. In fact, they don’t make it sound easy at all or at least too easy.

I know there are many Wealthy Affiliate reviews on the internet. Some bad apples might have even implied that Wealthy Affiliate is a way to make money fast. That is a completely false claim. No, you can’t make money fast even with the Wealthy Affiliate platform.

That’s why I decided to write my own Wealthy Affiliate review. What I can promise though is to provide you with my opinion as well as information on Wealthy Affiliate to help you make an informative decision. Ultimately, whether Wealthy Affiliate is worth it or not, is totally dependent on you.

First of all: Is Wealthy Affiliate a legitimate platform or is Wealthy Affiliate a scam? You’ll find out in this Wealthy Affiliate Review.

Wealthy Affiliate is my recommended make money online platform and I am honored to show you if Wealthy Affiliate is worth it. Without Wealthy Affiliate, Smart Affiliate Hub wouldn’t exist today.

Before I joined Wealthy Affiliate, I knew nothing about building a website. I had no idea that you can actually make money online. To me, the internet was simply a place for information and entertainment.

In Wealthy Affiliate, you will learn how to make money online through various methods such as internet marketing, affiliate marketing, email marketing, and more. Most importantly, you will have a website that you can proudly call your own.

For starters, you should opt-in for the free membership and upgrade to Wealthy Affiliate’s Premium membership at a later date. I want you to be serious about making money online before spending money on upgrading your Wealthy Affiliate account.

An Alternative For Wealthy Affiliate: There are other platforms out there similar to Wealthy Affiliate such as Solo Build It. But personally, I use Wealthy Affiliate so I try to follow my model. “I promote it because I use it.”

If you are not willing to build a website, then Wealthy Affiliate is not for you. The main part of Wealthy Affiliate is learning how to make money through affiliate marketing. More specifically, with the website that you make in the process.

I have seen many referrals come and go simply because they didn’t fully understand what they were getting themselves into. Wealthy Affiliate will provide you with a process and a platform but you’ll have to build on it.

The biggest reason why most people fail to make money online is that they’re not willing to put in the work. Wealthy Affiliate is not a magic bullet. You’re not going to get rich overnight by signing up for Wealthy Affiliate.

What you’ll get is the knowledge on how to build an online business for affiliate marketing. This can enable you to work freely from the comfort of your home rather than the traditional 9 to 5 job.

First, I must admit, this Wealthy Affiliate Review will be somewhat biased. But that’s because without Wealthy Affiliate, Smart Affiliate Hub wouldn’t exist today. It’s a great platform and I’ll highly recommend them.

Smart Affiliate Hub is a website created shortly after discovering the affiliate marketing platform, Wealthy Affiliate. Just like you, I was frustrated by the lack of legitimate sources on the internet. It seems that many make money online opportunities are nothing by scams.

Over the last 2 years, I’ve uncovered many false opportunities that promise to make you quick and easy money after signing up for their program. So when I first signed up for Wealthy Affiliate, I didn’t expect too much.

But soon I realized that Wealthy Affiliate is different. Wealthy Affiliate is actually the real deal when it comes to making money online.

While I do encourage everyone to sign up for the free membership at Wealthy Affiliate. Running an online business is not for everyone. For that reason, I want to go over who should not sign up for Wealthy Affiliate.

It all comes down to your expectations. If you are looking for an easy way out such as creating a full-time income in a matter of days, weeks, or a few short months. Wealthy Affiliate will not meet your expectations.

Most businesses take years to be profitable, fortunately, an online business will not take that long. However, it’s still a business, so time and effort will be required.

If you’re looking to make money fast, getting a real job is definitely going to be a better option for you. But if you’re serious about building a real sustainable online business, you can always come back to Wealthy Affiliate at a later date. Remember, you can always sign up for Wealthy Affiliate’s free membership.

If anyone offers you a make money fast opportunity, it’s likely to be a scam and you should stay away from it. Wealthy Affiliate will never promise to teach you how to make money fast.

Also, if you don’t like to write, please don’t sign up for Wealthy Affiliate. Besides video content, a big part of what Wealthy Affiliate teaches revolves around text-based content creation.

Text-based contents are what you find on search engines like Google. Great content helps drive traffic to your website from search engines.

In other words, you will be writing a lot and I mean, a lot…

Here in Smart Affiliate Hub, I write a lot to produce content for people like you to read. In fact, this Wealthy Affiliate review alone contains thousands of words.

If you don’t want to write, then I don’t recommend signing up for Wealthy Affiliate. Writing is pretty much one of your main jobs as an affiliate marketer.

Remember, only you can determine if Wealthy Affiliate is for you. That’s why I don’t recommend signing up for Wealthy Affiliate premium membership until you know that you are serious about building a real online business.

Is Wealthy Affiliate a pyramid scheme? In short, no, Wealthy Affiliate is not a pyramid scheme. First, let’s go what makes a business a pyramid scheme.

A pyramid scheme occurs when people are getting paid to recruit others. And those recruits will continue to recruit on their own and this continues going down the ladder. The most important part is nothing of value is being sold. 

Those who are late into the pyramid scheme will benefit the least due to the market being saturated. Wealthy Affiliate, on the other hand, is totally different. They do offer an affiliate program for their members to refer others to their platform.

However, Wealthy Affiliate does offer products and services such as web hosting, training programs focused on teaching new and existing affiliate marketers.

The success of Wealthy Affiliate members is all thanks to the support provided by their platform.

On the right-hand side of the picture above, you’ll see Wealthy Affiliate’s live chat system in action. There you will find other affiliate marketers helping each other out by asking and answering questions.

However, it does require premium membership to use.

On a daily basis, you’ll hear from many affiliate marketers on Wealthy Affiliate talking about their recent success. Whether it is an increase in traffic or income. They are all positive signs that Wealthy Affiliate is changing lives.

I regularly check out Wealthy Affiliate’s success stories to motivate myself to improve myself and my blog. I believe motivation is a crucial ingredient to success. If you are not motivated, you just won’t put in as much effort.

In short, Wealthy Affiliate is not a scam. Wealthy Affiliate doesn’t make any promises when it comes to their marketing/advertising. In fact, they make it quite clear that your success is dependent on your input.

Wealthy Affiliate is simply a powerful platform that provides you with web hosting, tools, and training resources to aid you on your journey.

Making money online requires knowledge, skills, and initiative. Wealthy Affiliate will provide you with the knowledge as well as training to master the skill. But at the end of the day, your initiative is required.

However, I don’t blame those who think Wealthy Affiliate is a scam. 

I have seen many affiliate marketers promote Wealthy Affiliate by bashing on other platforms. Which is not fair and totally biased. It also gives Wealthy Affiliate a bad name.

In 2015, Wealthy Affiliate was sued by MOBE (was shut down by the FTC). The reason for the lawsuit is because the founder and creator of Wealthy Affiliate (Kyle) wrote an article claiming MOBE to be a scam in 2014.

MOBE claimed that Kyle’s article defamed their company resulting in a loss in revenue. In the end, it cost Wealthy Affiliate around half of a million dollars to defend against the lawsuit in which they prevailed.

Things have really backfired and I am honored to be a part of a community that is truly remarkable. Wealthy Affiliate didn’t back out and came out on top during the lawsuit.

These days, I am not as active on Wealthy Affiliate, but I am still extremely active here on Smart Affiliate Hub. Not because I don’t find Wealthy Affiliate helpful anymore, but because I manage far too many other things on my blog to have time for it.

As the name implies, Wealthy Affiliate is all about affiliate marketing, so it only makes sense that they also include their very own affiliate program where you can earn money from.

Now there are 3 types of affiliate programs and the one that Wealthy Affiliate offers is considered a continuity program. What that means is you’ll continue to earn a commission as long as your referral remains a premium member.

Each referral is tagged to you for life, so even if they decide to take a break and return as a premium member in the future. You’ll still continue to earn a commission for that referral.

To get started, you must first become a member of Wealthy Affiliate. Once you become a member, you will receive an affiliate link in the Program Details:

There are various ways that you can promote your affiliate link. Most commonly, affiliate links are distributed through YouTube video descriptions, blog posts, or email marketing (but you’ll need to build an email list first).

You can start earning money as a free or premium member, but the pay structure is a bit different. As a starter member (free), you can earn $4.00 per initial premium membership upgrade.

Despite the many things that I like Wealthy Affiliate, there are things that I don’t like about Wealthy Affiliate. I think it’s only fair that I give you both sides. Let’s be honest, nothing is perfect.

To start it off, one thing I don’t like about Wealthy Affiliate is their main focus is on beginners (intermediate training). Even though this makes sense knowing that most members of Wealthy Affiliate are beginners.

But after doing this for over 2 years, I would like to see more advanced training for those who have been in the industry for a long time.

Second, Wealthy Affiliate does not allow self-promotions. Sometimes I have valuable information on Smart Affiliate Hub that I’d love to share on Wealthy Affiliate (specifically live chat). But due to their strict policy, I can’t.

Wealthy Affiliate is a community-based platform. But one thing that I find lacking is a forum. I understand that you can easily use live chat to get your questions answered.

But having a forum, users can simply browse topics and find their answers that way.

Overall, I still believe Wealthy Affiliate is a great starting ground for new affiliate marketers. But don’t take my word for it, try Wealthy Affiliate out for free.

In my opinion, Wealthy Affiliate is one of the best places for new affiliate marketers to get started. The hardest part about affiliate marketing or making money online is knowing where and how to start.

Wealthy Affiliate breaks it down step-by-step, so all you’ll need to do is learn and apply what you’ve learned along the way.

Smart Affiliate Hub (formerly known as Online Self Employed) started through Wealthy Affiliate’s platform. As you can see, I’ve spent a decent amount of time updating and perfecting it.

But, I’m still far from perfecting my website.

With over 500+ blog posts already published. I’d like to give back by promoting the very platform that got me this far.

Everything that I publish here is directly from the knowledge that I’ve gained from Wealthy Affiliate.
