UpLevel Works Provides Free Mental Wellness Tools to High Schools

SAN JOSE, Calif. - April 14, 2020 - (Newswire.com)

UpLevel Works is providing free subscriptions to high schools for its HAERT™ Mental Wellness education platform through the end of the school year. Preventive mental wellness strategies and skills are critical for teens to maintain good mental health and manage anxiety and depression. UpLevel Works is committed to helping the community through its online preventative education platform during this uncertain time.

“Mental health issues are at an all-time high. We need a systematic way to teach people how to manage preventatively -- just like we do with brushing teeth,” explains UpLevel Works CEO and mental health professional Barbara Tsai. “We know that mental wellness skills training has a huge impact on patients already in clinical settings. Why wait until people are overwhelmed? The fact is everyone can benefit from these skills to manage the stress and strong emotions we are all experiencing right now.”

The HAERT™ Program teaches participants how to manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors to support mental wellness. HAERT (Happiness, Awareness, and Emotional Resilience Training) offers a foundational understanding of the neuroscience and physiology of stress and strong emotions combined with teaching clinically proven strategies and skills needed to manage thoughts and behaviors. The curriculum draws on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Sensory Modulation, energy management, and other evidence-based interventions. The online video-based format is easily accessible for students, staff, and families, supporting the entire school community.

HAERT™ Program faculty and students report they have benefited from using its skills in their personal lives. Participants also report improved school climate and a common language and concepts to facilitate student discussions around mental wellness.

Interested schools should contact Bill Lennan at bill@uplevel.works or call 650-900-5650.

The HAERT™ Program is committed to teaching a growth mindset for mental wellness, with a focus on building daily preventative habits. Our online curriculum is based on clinically proven therapeutic methods that build new habits, strategies, and tools to help people manage stress, depression, and anxiety. Our roadmap of life skills and habits make mental wellness achievable for students, administrators, and parents.
