WASHINGTON & SAN DIEGO - April 7, 2020 - PRLog -- The COVID-19 worldwide pandemic is sounding the alarm on the critical need to locate emergency contacts. The Next of Kin Registry (NOKR) is your Emergency family locator system. The registry has been helping people worldwide since 2004 and has been a partner of the American Red Cross, FEMA, the US Postal Service and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children since 2006.

What information is in the registry?
Emergency contacts
Next of Kin
Vital medical information that would be critical to emergency response agencies. Stored information is only accessible via a secure area that is only accessible by law enforcement or healthcare facilities that have been vetted and registered with NOKR.

You are never asked for confidential information such as your driver license or social security number. All you need to register is the names of your family members and possibly some ID markers, such as a scar or tattoo. NOKR does not own registrants' information. It is made available to registered emergency agencies only during times of urgent need. NOKR also offers free printable id cards on the website along with Free decals by request for your state id cards or passports.

If you have a family member or loved one who ends up in the hospital or the morgue, how will first responders or health care facilities notify or find you? NOKR, with approximately 4000 volunteers globally, is now asking that all people who have been affected by the COVID-19 and have not yet registered their emergency contact information to please consider doing so today.

Our systems are operating at peak performance and you are able to rapidly enter pertinent family contacts and medical concerns. Our registrations are up over 1200% worldwide and the impact of that is the ability of first responders who are linked with the NOKR system to quickly unite families during this pandemic. BUT, you have to be in the system for it to benefit your loved ones.

NOKR has assisted in many disasters worldwide in our 16 years of service as a nonprofit humanitarian resource. Some of these disasters include Hurricane Katrina, the 2005 London bombings, 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, the 2012 Aurora shooting, Hurricane Sandy, the Orlando nightclub shooting, Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma, Hurricane Maria, the 2017 Las Vegas shooting and others.
