The Witte Museum has completed Board Chair Dirk Elmendorf's $100,000 Match Campaign

SAN ANTONIO - February 4, 2020 - (Newswire.com)

Witte Museum Board of Trustees and leadership are excited to announce the successful match of the Chairman’s Challenge. The Chairman’s Challenge was set by Dirk Elmendorf, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Witte Museum, with the goal of a $100,000 match. The Challenge was a part of the Witte Forever Endowment Campaign which encompasses endowment, capital, and operational excellence for the museum.

“The success of this campaign just shows how much people are invested in the Witte’s future,” said Dirk Elmendorf, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Witte Museum. “The community has shown its love for this museum and we are excited to celebrate so many new donors and supporters of our mission. The Chairman’s Match is just one way to make it possible for the Witte Museum to welcome 400,000 visitors each year, 150,000 of whom are school children. I look forward to seeing more people join the campaign. I dream of a day when we can recognize everyone in the city as a supporter of the Witte.”

The Witte Museum launched the $100 million Witte Forever Campaign with the completion goal by the museum’s centennial in 2026. Endowment opportunities are available, as well as naming opportunities for galleries, labs, and outdoor learning landscapes. The campaign currently is collecting 100,000 signatures from the community to show solidarity and support for the future of the Witte Museum.

The Witte Museum leadership asks that if anyone has been to the Witte and left transformed by the experience to become a part of the effort to make the Witte Museum forever by donating and signing the campaign. There are many ways to contribute, including visiting www.WitteMuseum.org/PeoplesCampaign, at the Walker Admissions Desk or by speaking with a Witte Museum employee.
