Originally from Sylvester, Georgia, Dr. Parkman graduated Magna Cum Laude from Valdosta State University, where he was also a member of the baseball team. He earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where he was very involved in the local chapter of the American Student Dental Association and served as the student body president.
Recognized for his professional skill and expertise, Dr. Parkman was given the undergraduate award from the Academy of Osseointegration, which is an international dental implant organization. Following graduation, he served as a Captain in the United States Air Force, completing a one-year advanced education in general dentistry residency in Louisiana. He completed the remainder of his Air Force requirements in South Carolina, followed by advanced training in intravenous sedation techniques, oral surgery, implant placement, and periodontal surgery.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Outside of practicing dentistry, Dr. Parkman loves playing golf and rooting for University of Georgia football and Louisville basketball. He and his wife, Laura Parkman, have two children.
