He has also served as an orthopedic consultant to various local high schools.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Dr. Hutter is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

Pertaining to his academic career, he earned his medical degree from the Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. in 1983. Thereafter, he went on to complete his internship in general surgery and his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey. 

Proudly practicing in the community where he grew up, Dr. Hutter is involved in many local organizations, including Congregation Etz Chaim, where he is a past president and in the Friendship Circle. He is a past chairman of the Metro New Jersey Israel Bond Organization and presently serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors for Israel Bonds. Nationally, he has led several medical missions to Israel on behalf of Israel Bonds. Additionally, he was a contributing and reviewing editor for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons 2003 Body Almanac - a book for the lay population on bone and joint health.
