MONTREAL, QUEBEC - TheNewswire - September 19, 2019 - Dundee Sustainable Technologies Inc. ("DST" or the "Corporation") (CNSX:DST.CN) is pleased to update shareholders on the operation of its Industrial Scale Plant (the "Plant") using DST's proprietary GlassLock ProcessTM ("GlassLock"). Please refer to press releases dated December 1, 2017, February 23, 2018, June 28, 2018, December 5, 2018, and March 26, 2019.

The Plant began operations in late March 2019 and has been operational for nearly six months and is nearing the end of the demonstration phase. The Plant has met the principal objective of safely sequestering arsenic in the glass at a concentration level of up to 20% and to pass the TCLP test. TCLP stands for Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Protocol whereby the glass is subject to a 18-hour leach in a weak acid solution and the resulting leachate contains less than 5 mg/L of arsenic.

The objective of the project was to confirm, at the industrial scale, the amenability of the DST Technology for the treatment of flue dusts produced by the facility. The next step to finalize the project is to complete a report on the Plant and the technical and economic parameters that will form the basis for a decision to move to a full-scale plant.

Mr. Brian Howlett, the CEO of DST commented, "Management is very pleased with the operational performance of the Plant and look forward to testing other potential operational parameters and finalizing the reporting stage. Management of the Corporation will continue to update its shareholders and the market upon the progress of this project as warranted."

As previously announced in a press release dated January 24, 2018, this project is partially funded by the Government of Canada through the Sustainable Development Technology Canada ("SDTC") fund.

The DST Technology uses lower cost inputs to economically produce a more stable product than current industrial practices. DST's innovative method to stabilize arsenic is becoming an attractive technique to segregate the arsenic and is applicable for deposits or concentrates considered to contain arsenic concentrations too high to be exploited using conventional approaches. The resulting glass is non-toxic and meets or exceeds the United States Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) toxicity characterization leaching procedure (TCLP, Method 1311).

About Dundee Sustainable Technologies, a company controlled by Dundee Corporation

The Corporation is engaged in the development and commercialization of environment-friendly technologies for the treatment of materials in the mining industry. Through the development of patented, proprietary processes, DST extracts precious and base metals from mineralized material, concentrates and tailings, while stabilizing contaminants such as arsenic, which could not otherwise be extracted or stabilized with conventional processes because of metallurgical issues or environmental considerations.

DST has filed, published and was granted patents for these processes in several countries.
