Workplace safety continues to be Job #1 at the Tennessee Tow Show, with a second annual Safety Symposium scheduled for the three-day event, to be held October 10 - 13, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and which is hosted by Tow Times Magazine and the Tennessee Tow Truck Association.
The first day of the Tennessee Tow Show will focus on hands-on training, plus seminars about rigging, eliminating negativity in the workplace, retaining employees, lienholder landmines, plus a motor club forum, among other subjects.
The second day is all about safety, with five safety seminars covering topics such as OSHA, protecting drives and safety work zones. The safety seminars will be preceded by a four-hour panel with representatives from agencies such as the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the National Safety Council and moderated by attorney Michael McGovern of TowLawyer.com.

New for this year, AAA will demonstrate some best-service practices for handling unique or difficult-to-service vehicles, presenting tips on avoiding damage when loading a wheel-lift and car carrier.

In addition, the Tennessee Tow Truck Association and the Tennessee Highway Patrol are offering a free four-hour traffic incident management (TIM) training session for which attendees will earn a certificate of attendance.

Although entrance to the Tennessee Tow Show exhibit hall is free, attendees must purchase a pass to attend any of the seminar sessions. Passes are $50 with an advanced purchase or $75 at the door.
Not to be overlooked, the three-day event coincides with Museum Weekend, hosted by the International Towing and Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum, based in Chattanooga. Museum events include the Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Museum Auction, and the Wall of the Fallen Name Unveiling Ceremony.
A 5K run/walk to benefit the museum's Survivor Fund is back for a second year and will cap the weekend activities. The Survivor Fund provides emergency assistance to family members of towing operators who have died in job-related accidents.
