A $1.2 trillion market for loans made to already highly leveraged companies is showing signs of cooling

Companies with speculative-grade ratings can sell high-yield bonds or take out a leveraged loan to help meeting their funding needs. But loan market pressures this year have led to a 65% drop in gross loan supply versus 2018, while bond sales have been climbing.
