LAS VEGAS, NV, March 21, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Blue Apple Electric announces its decision to be the exclusive sponsor of the 8 News NOW Pool Patrol community outreach campaign created to raise awareness and provide tips to keep children safe around the swimming pool. The campaign will run from May through August of this year; content will appear on Channel 8 television, ME TV, 8 News NOW social media, the Pool Patrol web page, and the LasVegasNOW.com homepage.
In 2018, from Memorial Day through Labor Day, more than 148 children under the age of 15 drowned in swimming pools or spas. Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for children ages one through four. According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, "The number of fatal drownings is down approximately 9% from 2017." However, some states had an increase in fatal drownings from the previous year.
David Schafer, COO of Blue Apple Electric says "Every Nevada-native knows that the only way to survive our scorching summers is to jump into the pool. For kids, playing Marco Polo and seeing how long they can hold their breath underwater are staple summertime activities." A Blue Apple Electric spokesperson will be appearing on Channel 8, Monday through Sunday, between 4AM and 1:35AM beginning May 1st through August 31st to discuss safety tips. A Blue Apple Electric spokesperson will also be appearing on ME TV, Monday through Sunday, between 5AM and 5PM.
