Sixty-Six, Retired and Still Rockin'

Still Lookin' For A Girl With No Tattoos

TROY, NY, November 14, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Since he retired, Larry Quinn has been writing and recording songs, burning cds and sending them to radio stations. At 66, he recently released his "Still Lookin" CD to radio stations throughout the country. The title refers to the single, "I'm Lookin' For A Girl With No Tattoos," that has received steady airplay at some radio stations across the country.

Quinn worked in state and local government for 21 years prior to retiring in 2014. "I put the music business on pause while I worked full-time, raised four children and attended college part time. I received a bachelor's degree when I was 45." Quinn coached little league baseball and attended all of his children's activities, such as dance lessons, cheerleading, basketball, and Babe Ruth baseball. "In 2007, my son Alexander Quinn, who was living in Nashville, sent me an acoustic guitar for Christmas. I was back in business! I started playing some of my old songs and began writing new songs. In 2011, I went to Nashville and recorded a 3 song cd with Alexander on guitar and engineering. I sold quite a few at work. In 2013, I went to Nashville again and we recorded a five song cd, Mr. Quinn, which I sell at live performances. Since then we have recorded 3 singles, one of which, 'I'm Lookin' For A Girl With No Tattoos,' is gaining popularity on radio stations."Quinn is now appearing as a solo act in bars and clubs in the Albany, NY area and his repertoire includes 22 of his own songs.

Larry Quinn is no stranger to the music business. He played in bands during grade school and high school and began writing songs in 1966. His first record was recorded in 1976 in Louisville, KY on AMG Records with his band Tree Fox."You Make Me Real," was released nationally in 1977. He was the lead singer and songwriter with Tree Fox. The band released a single 1979 with 15/20 backed with Wanderin' Man and an album in 1979 titled Rough Road, recorded in Cincinnati for Fraternity Records. The single was released to 2,000 radio stations nationwide by Fraternity. After Tree Fox broke up, Quinn produced demo tapes and records for Albany area bands.

"Still Lookin" was initially released September 15, 2018 on Quinn's label, Third Son Records."I'm Lookin' For A Girl With No Tattoos," is the lead song and focus of the CD. "The song was originally released as a single and received some airplay," said Quinn (the music video has 3,346 views on YouTube)."Still Lookin," also includes, 15/20, Oh Linda, Nothin' To Lose Blues, Good Ole What's Her Name and Not Going To Work Today. All written by Larry. The initial release of Still Lookin' and "I'm Lookin' For A Girl With No Tattoos" has gained airplay throughout the country, most notably: KOSW-Ocean Shores WA & Indie 100-Las Vegas. Also Albany, NY area stations: WFNY-Gloversville, WEXT-Albany and Radioradiox live streaming Waterford, WOJB-Hayward, WI, WUSC-Columbia, SC, KXUA-Fayetteville, AR, KDHX-St. Louis, MO, KMUD-Redway, CA and KFAI-Minn, MN. Larry's music can also be found in iTunes and most internet music sites. "I hope to spread my music to a national audience through airplay and online streaming. It is a process that has proven successful for me and I'm going to expand it. I've said this before and I'll say it again: How cool is it that a 66 year old man can write a song, record it with his son and hear it on the radio? Oh it's cool, very, very cool," said Quinn. Sixty-Six, retired and still rockin!
