ACOFP Selects New Executive Director



ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - October 16, 2018 - (Newswire.com)

The American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) is pleased to announce that Bob Moore, MA, CAE, will become its new Executive Director on December 1, succeeding Peter Schmelzer, MBA, CAE, who is retiring after 18 years with ACOFP.

Moore is a recognized leader in association management with 20 years of experience serving major national and international organizations. He has enjoyed a successful career in building chapter relations, advancing membership growth, launching profitable programs in continuing education and professional development, and creating innovative business models and strategic operations.

Moore most recently held the title of Chief Operating Officer of the 30,000-member American Dental Hygienists’ Association. As COO, he facilitated new strategic and business plans and office relocation, achieving profitability and increasing reserves by nearly $300K.

Moore previously served as Executive Director of the Technology Councils of North America (TECNA), where he refocused its strategic direction, increasing membership and non-dues revenue by more than 25%. He was Vice President of Knowledge and Learning at the Institute of Food Technologists and a Director at SmithBucklin and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Moore is also active as a volunteer leader with the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and Association Forum, Chicago. He is a Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) scholar with the ASAE. A graduate of Illinois State University with a BS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Moore earned his MA in Organizational Communications from the University of Northern Iowa.

Moore brings outstanding experience and knowledge that can successfully guide ACOFP through a changing landscape while ensuring that it remains a leading voice for osteopathic family medicine nationwide.
