Mechanics Bank and Sheriff Lopey Foundation Team up for Klamathon Fire Relief: $10,000 Donation for Fire Victims, Donation Matching Program Announced

Mechanics Bank (“Mechanics”) (OTCBB: MCHB) (formerly Scott Valley Bank) announced today that they will immediately donate $10,000 for relief and recovery efforts for those who have been impacted by the Klamathon Fire near Yreka, CA. In addition to the donation, Mechanics Bank has established a fund to accept donations from the community and is encouraging community participation by offering to match the amount of any community contribution, up to an additional $10,000. All donations will be used to benefit those individuals, families and businesses suffering damage or displacement from the Klamathon Fire.

The Bank is partnering with the Sheriff Lopey Foundation of Siskiyou County to manage the distribution of the funds and ensure that they go directly to those in immediate need.

“As a community bank, this is what we do,” said Rauly Butler, Executive Vice President and Director of Retail Banking. “These are our friends, neighbors, and customers, and we’re all in this together. We know there’s an immediate need, and our hope is that this also gives others in the community a way to help as well.”

“Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by the Klamathon Fire,” said Jon Lopey, who began the Sheriff Lopey Foundation seven years ago. “We all know how quickly lives and livelihoods can change in these types of disasters. We’re here to help the community, and we’re grateful to have a partner like Mechanics Bank to help lead the fundraising effort.”

Contributions to the relief fund are being accepted at all Mechanics Bank branches (formerly Scott Valley Bank branches), or checks may be sent by mail to Mechanics Bank, Attn: Klamathon Fire Relief Fund, 2544 Westside Road, Yreka, CA 96097.
