GREENVILLE, Pa. - March 19, 2018 - PRLog -- Thiel College, a leading liberal arts college in northwest Pennsylvania, launches the inaugural Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education speaker series "What Matters to Me and Why" with its President Susan Traverso, Ph.D., as the distinguished speaker at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 20 in the Lutheran Heritage Room of the Howard Miller Student Center. A dinner will follow Traverso's speech.

This new program will feature members of the Thiel (https://www.thiel.edu/)  community sharing their values, beliefs, motivations and sense of vocation. The speaker series will connect students, faculty and staff so they gain a better understanding of the lives and inspirations of the members of the Thiel community. The event is open to the Thiel College community and all are encouraged to join as President Traverso reflects on her values, beliefs and personal calling.

The Network is an initiative launched in 2009 as a nationwide collection of higher education institutions to develop the intellectual and theological exploration of vocation among undergraduate students. Institutions founded in the liberal arts tradition serve as a pathway for educating future leaders who are theologically literate, whose attitudes and behaviors are shaped by their values and commitments and who are propelled to maintain a life of service that is directed by a larger sense of calling. The initiative is administered by the Council of Independent Colleges with significant support from the Lilly Foundation.
