Narconon Louisiana Celebrates Narconon Day

On Feb. 19, Narconon New Life Retreat for the first time ever released the film of the grand opening of the drug rehab facility back in 2006 in celebration of Narconon Day

DENHAM SPRINGS, La. - February 26, 2018 - (Newswire.com)

Narconon Louisiana releases video of its grand opening in commemoration of Narconon Day.

Feb. 19 marks the day when Narconon began. The origins of what is now the Narconon program began in the Arizona State Penitentiary. Over 50 years ago, a man by the name of William Benitez decided to help others who had suffered from addiction.

Forty years later in the same spirit, Narconon Louisiana was opened by founding members Cathy and Thomas Steiner, Dr. Rohit Adi and Kelley Keeney.

As he cut the ribbon to officially open the facility, founding member Tom Steiner had this to say, "Cutting this ribbon is to a drug-free Louisiana, a drug-free United States, a drug-free future."

The center opened in the wake of Hurricane Katrina when Baton Rouge physician Dr. Rohit Adi saw a surge in people evacuating New Orleans and the surrounding areas who were withdrawing from drugs. It was after this that he and the other board members came together and opened the center. Twelve years later, the center continues to work with addicts to turn their lives around.

From the original founder of the Narconon program to the Narconon staff around the world who help every day, we acknowledge their efforts toward creating a drug-free society.
