SCARED BLIND // TRICOAST WORLDWIDE
Gary Sinyor’s intelligent, Hitchcockian inspired psychological thriller, ‘SCARED BLIND’, (aka ‘THE UNSEEN’) made it way to this year’s European Film Festival at Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin.

Los Angeles, CA - February 24, 2018 -

Are you ready to be scared blind?

TriCoast Worldwide heads home to Hollywood after the film-frenzy festival at EFM’s Berlinale, with global entertainment headlines surrounding Gary Sinyor’s intelligent, riveting, psychological horror, ‘SCARED BLIND’, aka ‘THE UNSEEN’ in the U.K.

Written and directed by Sinyor (‘The Bachelor’), ‘SCARED BLIND’ is an intensive, haunting psychological thriller that dives deep into the dark and emotional heartbreak of grief and obsession with a uniquely cinematic approach that has terrified U.K. Cinema audiences.

‘SCARED BLIND’ follows the story of a wealthy couple, Gemma (Jasmine Hyde) and Will (Richard Flood), whose lives are turned upside-down and shattered with the untimely and tragic death of their son after a sudden accident.

Unable to cope, Will finds himself weeping with his son’s teddy bear clenched his hands. He begins to question his sanity as the house walls are filled with whispers of his son’s voice echoing from his now empty bedroom.

Blind with grief and guilt, Gemma blames herself for the accident. She begins to psychologically unravel with continuous, horrifying panic attacks that results in blindness, or amaurosis, a visual impairment with a quick and unpredictable onset and no physiological explanation. Through Sinyor’s directional techniques, the blurry camera forces the audience to also feel blind, but more so, disoriented and confused.

“For Director Sinyor, the idea of portraying amaurosis on-screen – through exquisitely blurry and distorted visuals – is an intriguing one that grants the film a wholly unique spin,” wroteJeannie Blue for Cryptic Rock (5/5 star review).

Praying for mended hearts and to forget the past, the heartbroken couple re-locates to a friend’s (“Paul” by Simon Cotton) remote, country guesthouse, but soon realize that they cannot truly run away from trouble, betrayal and breach of trust.

“[Scared Blind] is a wonderfully-constructed film that toes the line between the psychological – initially suggesting a kind of Folie à deux episode – and traditional Thriller/Suspense elements, while also offering a hint of the paranormal for those that wish to grasp it. The end result is a smartly authored film that weaves a tale that embraces elements of Horror, Psychological Thriller, and Drama, all with an underlying pinch of Stephen King’s Misery baked into its pages,” continued Blue

‘SCARED BLIND’ is an engrossing and intelligent psychological thriller that captures a couple battling the unbearable grief, pain and loss, yet captivates watchers, eager on their toes to find out what happens next as they subject themselves to Gemma’s amaurosis, as their personal line between reality and psychosis is blurred.

With raw and emotional performances by a star-studded cast, ‘SCARED BLIND’ stars Jasmine Hyde (‘Runt’, ‘The Truth Commissioner’), Richard Flood (‘Killing Kennedy’, ‘Crossing Lines’ series), and Simon Cotton (‘The Rise of the Krays’, 'Godless’ short).

Headlining ‘SCARED BLIND’ as “Visually Stunning and Hauntingly Beautiful”, Tori Danielle from Pop Horror raved, “The performances were raw and emotional. Gemma, played by Jasmine Hyde, is absolutely stunning. Her character suffers several panic attacks throughout the film and it is utterly frightening. As a viewer, you can feel her pain, suffering, and loss of control. Richard Flood as Will was also amazing. It was almost unbearable to watch him go through the pain of a grieving father. Then there’s Paul, played by Simon Cotton, who was brilliant at making us guess what his true intentions were.”

TriCoast Worldwide’s representation of ‘SCARED BLIND’ at EFM’s Berlinale has allowed those worldwide to experience Sinyor’s brooding, disturbing film that is accompanied by stunning cinematography – touching on the every day, relatable themes of love, grief, and the overall frailty of human beings.

“You can’t help but wonder what Gary Sinyor may be capable of in the future if he can move on to bigger and better things, and the main cast certainly all deserve to sink their teeth into more ambitious projects in upcoming years. I certainly wouldn’t be surprised to see Jasmine Hyde’s name pop up again soon. [SCARED BLIND] is just the beginning,” wrote David Bedwell from VultureHound.
