Intel partners with Warner Bros.

The markets surged higher during the midday with the Dow rocketing 334 points to 24,274. Nasdaq climbed 53 points to 6,878.


Intel will partner with Warner Bros. to bring entertainment to self-driving cars. The companies will create immersive experiences inside autonomous vehicles using virtual or augmented reality for riders to enjoy. The windows of cars can also be used as screens for streaming content or working.


CVS Health is engaged in advanced discussions to acquire Aetna for a reported $66 billion in cash and stock. Aetna cancelled its proposed $34 billion merger with Humana earlier this year after a federal court temporarily blocked the deal. The companies said the a combination of a pharmacy with a health insurer would lower the cost of drugs while improving healthcare delivery.


BMW introduced its Concept X7 iPerformance SUV that will be the German automaker's flagship vehicle next year. The X7 will be a plug-in hybrid with a twin-turbocharged engine alongside an electric powered engine. The luxury SUV will comfortably seat six in three rows.


In the broad market, advancing issues outpaced decliners by a margin of more than 3 to 2 on the NYSE and by more than 4 to 3 on Nasdaq. The broader S&P 500 soared 24 points to 2,650. Bitcoin plunged $287 to $9,612.
