Teri Bump of American Campus Communities Named 2017 Pillar of the Profession by NASPA

The Pillars award is designed to honor individuals who have served as teachers, leaders, and scholars in the field who:

  • Sustained professional distinction in the higher education field, as defined by donors and supporters;
  • Served in leadership roles in NASPA, either regionally or nationally;
  • Are recognized or remembered by colleagues, friends, students, or student organizations for extraordinary service; and
  • Have made significant lifetime contributions to the higher education field.

As an American Campus Communities vice president, Teri presents nationally on university trends and issues, and has delivered educational sessions at ACE, NASPA, ACUHO-I, NACUBO, NIRSA, ACPA, NACAS, NASAP, and APPA. She is a past ACUHO-I and ACPA Foundation Board trustee and currently serves on the NACAS Education Foundation Board. She has also written for the ACUHO-I Talking Stick, NACAS Journal, the NASPA Leadership Exchange, and participated in the “21st Century Project”. In 2007, Teri was awarded the ACUHO-I Corporate Friend Award for service to the association, the Business Partner of the Year Award for American Campus Communities at the 2007 national NACAS conference, the 2010 ACPA Business Partner of the Year Award and was in the 2016 class of ACPA Diamond Honorees.
