This amendment on Form 6-K/A amends the Form 6-K filed on October 29, 2004, to
correct the signature page. The signature page to the original document
reflected the signature of Philippe Jaffré, who had ceased to hold the title of
Chief Financial Officer of ALSTOM. This amendment substitutes the signature of
Henri Poupart-Lafarge, the current Chief Financial Officer of ALSTOM.
