Item 8.01         Other Events
 
On December 23, 2009, Malvern Federal Bancorp, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing a $0.03 per share cash dividend, payable on the shares of the Company’s common stock. The cash dividend will be payable on January 21, 2010 to shareholders of record as of the close of business on December 31, 2009.  Malvern Federal Mutual Holding Company has indicated its intention to waive receipt of the dividend.
 
For additional information, reference is made to the Company’s press release dated December 23, 2009, which is included as Exhibit 99.1 hereto and is incorporated herein by reference.
