Item 2.02 – Results of Operations and Financial Condition

 

On February 20 2007, NovaStar Financial Inc. announced financial results for 2006 and the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2006. Full-year 2006 net income available to common shareholders was reported as $66.3 million and diluted earnings per share available to common shareholders were $1.92. Fourth quarter 2006 net loss available to common shareholders was reported as $14.4 million and diluted earnings per share available to common shareholders were $0.39. The press release announcing the earnings for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2006 is included as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
