Attached and incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit 99 is a copy of the News Release issued by FBL Financial Group, Inc. on October 15, 2010 announcing an upgrade to "A-" (Excellent) of its subsidiary Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company by A.M. Best Company. A.M. Best also affirmed the "B+" rating for EquiTrust Life Insurance Company and revised the outlook to stable for both companies. This information shall not be deemed "filed" for purposes of Section 18 of the Securities Act of 1933, except as expressly set forth by specific reference to such filing.
